Basketball Hosts Omaha Media Day

Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton men's and women's basketball programs hosted its annual Omaha media day on Wednesday, October 13th in the Championship Center. Wednesday offered the first chance for the local Omaha media outlets to meet the 2021-22 teams, speak to the coaches and begin to put names to new faces.

The women's basketball team has 10 returners and two newcomers, while the men's squad features seven returners and eight newcomers.

Head coaches Greg McDermott and Jim Flanery as well as two players from each team will represent the Bluejays as the BIG EAST Conference holds a media day for all 11 schools at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, October 19th.

The Bluejay men's team will open its season on October 30th with an exhibition game against Upper Iowa at CHI Health Center Omaha.

Creighton's women's team hosts Wayne State on November 3rd in its exhibition contest at 5:00 pm. The Bluejay women will also be hosting an open practice on Sunday, October 17th at 12:00 pm in D.J. Sokol Arena. Doors open at 11:45am, and a scrimmage starts at noon.
