Freshman led Creighton in kills in digs last weekend
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball standout Norah Sis has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the second straight week and third time overall this season.
Sis averaged 4.75 kills and 3.88 digs per set in a pair of road matches last weekend, hitting .245 while also producing an ace. Both the kill and dig totals led all BIG EAST freshmen last week.
Â
Sis had career-highs with 23 kills and 21 digs in Saturday's five-set match at UConn. Her 23 kills were the most by a Bluejay all season as the Papillion product became the first Bluejay freshman since Jaali Winters in 2015 to have at least 20 kills and 20 digs in the same match.
Â
Sis then had a match-high 15 kills, 10 digs and an ace in CU's 3-0 sweep at Providence. It was Sis' third straight double-double and ninth of the season.
Â
Sis leads all BIG EAST freshmen in kills and points per set. She was previously honored on Sept. 6 and Oct. 11th and along with classmate and four-time honoree Kendra Wait, the Bluejays have captured Freshman of the Week accolades in seven of the first eight weeks of the season.
Ranked No. 19 nationally, Creighton (18-3, 6-2 BIG EAST) hosts Georgetown on Friday at 6:30 p.m.as part of its annual Pink Out, then welcomes Villanova to D.J. Sokol Arena on Sunday at 1 p.m. Both matches will air on FloSports.
