Papillion product tied for league lead with 4.00 kills per set
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton Volleyball's Norah Sis has been named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for the fifth time this season.
The Papillion product averaged 4.00 kills, 3.29 digs, 0.43 blocks and 0.14 aces per set on .294 hitting as the Bluejays defeated Xavier (3-0) and Butler (3-1) over the weekend to improve to 24-3 and match the program's best record ever after 27 contests.
Â
Sis led Creighton's offense in both matches with 14 kills. She had nine digs, three blocks and an ace on .423 hitting in the sweep vs. Xavier, then contributed 14 digs in the 3-1 win vs. Butler that clinched a spot in the league tournament. It was Sis' 12th double-double of the fall.
Â
Her 4.00 kills per set for the week were tied for the most in the league last week, and led all players on teams who won at least once.
The five Freshman of the Week honors by Sis ties the amount won by teammate Kendra Wait, as the Bluejay duo have now combined to win 10-of-11 weekly awards this fall.
Ranked 24th nationally in last week's AVCA poll, Creighton visits Georgetown at 1 p.m. Central on Friday before playing at Villanova on Saturday at 6 p.m.
