Men's Basketball Ranked 17th in Latest Polls

Creighton will be the second seed in the BIG EAST Tournament
OMAHA, Neb. --Â The Creighton men's basketball team fell three spots from 14th to 17th in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll. Creighton also fell five spots from 12th to 17th in the Ferris Mowers Coaches Poll.
Creighton's (18-7, 14-6 BIG EAST) 23 straight weeks in the rankings extends the program record. The Bluejays remain one of six schools that have been ranked each of the past 23 AP polls (since Feb. 3, 2020), joining Gonzaga (94), Villanova (39), Baylor (36), Houston (25) and Iowa (25).
This is the 112th week in program history that the Bluejays have been ranked. Creighton is 138-53 all-time as a ranked team.
Creighton's best rank in program history is No. 7, done four times (Jan. 16, 2017, March 9, 2020, March 16, 2020 and Jan. 4, 2021).
CU is one of two BIG EAST teams that are nationally ranked by the AP this week, joining No. 14 Villanova.
Elsewhere around the BIG EAST, UConn is also among those getting votes.
Creighton heads to Madison Square Garden in New York City this week to open play in the BIG EAST Tournament. The second-seeded Bluejays will play either Butler or Xavier on Thursday at 5 p.m. Central on FS1.
