Bluejays won each doubles match and all six singles matches in straight sets
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's tennis team evened its season record at 6-6 with a dominating 7-0 victory against Augustana on Saturday afternoon at the Koch Family Tennis Center.
The Bluejays won at all three doubles positions before winning in straight sets at each singles slot.
Matthew Lanahan and Jose Oscar Diaz combined for a 6-2 victory at No. 2 doubles for the pair's team-leading ninth doubles win of the season. Stratton Brown and Joe Hoff earned a 6-3 win at the top position, while Mac Mease and Armando Gandini won 6-4 at No. 3.
Hoff's 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles clinched the overall dual. The senior improved to a team-best 7-4 in singles play. Brown and Gandini each claimed their sixth singles win of the year, Lanahan and Diaz each won for the fifth time in singles this season and Mease won his fourth of the year.
"It was great to get outside and play in some wind and sun with spectators today," head coach Tom Lilly said. "We have just over a week until conference and will keep trying to get outside as much as possible to continue preparing for the BIG EAST tournament."
Creighton wraps up its regular season on April 17 against Doane for senior day. First serve between the Bluejays and Tigers is scheduled for 1 p.m.
