Miller was named the Class AAA Mr. Basketball winner in Tennessee
OMAHA, Neb. – Mason Miller, a 6-foot-9 forward from Germantown, Tenn., has signed a letter-of-intent with the Creighton men's basketball program.
Miller was named the Class AAA Mr. Basketball winner in Tennessee last month after helping Houston High School to its first state championship. He helped the Mustangs to a 23-3 record and scored a team-best 19.1 points per game.
Miller is regarded as the No. 78 recruit in 247Sports composite rankings, and the No. 2 player in Tennessee. He's listed as the No. 70 prospect in the 247Sports rankings, 75th by Rivals and 99th in ESPN's latest rankings.
"We are thrilled to add Mason to our program," said Creighton head coach Greg McDermott. "He has a combination of size, skill and athleticism that will allow for a seamless transition into college basketball. The versatile nature of his game will allow us to use him in a number of different ways on both ends of the floor."
As a junior, Miller was a second-team All-Metro selection while helping Houston reach its first boys basketball state tournament since the school opened in 1989.
The newest Bluejay comes from a basketball family. His father, Mike Miller, was a 17-year NBA veteran and coached his son to the state title this spring.
Miller joins fall signees John Christofilis and Ryan Nembhard as part of a Creighton recruiting class regarded among the top-30 nationally.
Creighton finished 22-9 overall and led the BIG EAST with 14 league victories last season, advancing to the program's first Sweet 16 since 1974.
