Kaluma gives Creighton the nation's seventh-best recruiting class, per 247Sports
OMAHA, Neb. – Arthur Kaluma, a four-star prospect and the No. 46 player in ESPN's recruiting rankings, has signed a national letter-of-intent with the Creighton men's basketball program. The 6-foot-8 forward played last season at Dream City Christian High School in Glendale, Ariz.
Kaluma is the highest-ranked Creighton recruit in the history of the ESPN database, which dates to 2007. He selected Creighton over a list of schools that included Arizona, Western Kentucky and Syracuse.
247Sports tabs Kaluma as the nation's 45th-best recruit, and 11th-best power forward. His signing gives the Bluejays the best recruiting class in the BIG EAST, and seventh-best nationally, as he joins incoming freshmen recruits John Christofilis, Mason Miller and Ryan Nembhard.
"Arthur Kaluma is an extremely versatile player who can stretch the floor and create opportunities for his teammates," said Creighton head coach Greg McDermott. "His unique skill set and physical ability will be impactful from the start. Arthur's footwork and strong motor will help us both offensively and defensively. On top of that, he has a high basketball IQ and can rebound the basketball. We can't wait to get him in a Bluejay uniform."
Kaluma played for coach Kyle Weaver at Dream Christian, and for Sean Stevens of Vegas Elite on the AAU circuit.
Creighton is coming off a 22-9 season that was highlighted by the program's first Sweet 16 trip since 1974.
