6-0 Start Vaults Volleyball Into 19th in Top 25 Poll

Creighton hosts four matches this week
OMAHA, Neb. -- A program-record 6-0 start has vaulted the Creighton Volleyball team into the No. 19 spot in this week's AVCA Top 25 poll.
After being just outside the top-25 last week, Creighton made the leap after wins in Lexington, Ky., over USC (3-2), Kentucky (3-0) and Northern Iowa (3-0). Kentucky dropped from No. 3 to No. 8 in the rankings after being swept at home for the first time since 2017.
The Bluejays have now been ranked in 78 all-time polls. CU's all-time best ranking in program history is No. 7, which came in the poll released on Aug. 28, 2017. Creighton is 120-31 all-time when playing as a ranked team in the AVCA poll, including a 54-8 mark at home.
CU is also 15-19 when playing as a ranked team against another ranked team. Additionally, this is the 10th straight season that Creighton has spent at least one week in the top-25, extending another program record.
Creighton's BIG EAST rival, Marquette, went from a tie for 25th into the top spot among those 'also receiving votes' despite a 3-0 weekend in Normal, Ill., to improve to 6-0 on the season.
Creighton returns to the court on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. when it hosts No. 3 Nebraska at CHI Health Center Omaha in a match that will be televised nationally on FS1.
