South Dakota native posted 57 combined points against Seton Hall and St. John's
Omaha, Neb. --Â Emma Ronsiek led Creighton to a 3-1 record over the last two weeks, capping the busy stretch with a pair of career-highlighting performances to earn the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday, Jan. 17. The award was carried over for two weeks as just three games were played during the week of Jan. 3-9.
The sophomore forward was one point shy of her career best when she tallied 27 points off 12-of-16 shooting in Friday's 83-60win over Seton Hall, before erupting for a career-best 30 points off 10-of-17 shooting in Sunday's 86-80 win over St. John's. Against the Red Storm, Ronsiek was 5-of-8 from three and added two blocks. She snagged six boards in each game this weekend and averaged 5.5 over the four-game stretch. Ronsiek added 10 points in last Sunday's setback at then-No. 11 UConn, in what was the Huskies' narrowest margin of victory in the BIG EAST since rejoining the league last season. During the four-game stretch Ronsiek averaged 17.7 ppg and posted a 28.5 ppg combined against Seton Hall and St. John's.
The last time a Bluejay claimed the BIG EAST's top weekly honor was during the 2019-20 season. Jaylyn Agnew did so six times, the final coming on March 2, 2020, while Tatum Rembao claimed the honor once that year.
