Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton women's soccer head coach Ross Paule announced five additions to his 2022 signing class on Wednesday, January 5. The Bluejays have added Lara Kazandjian (Kirkland, Quebec), Hannah Luke (Darlington, England) and Ariana Mondiri (Evry, France) for the spring 2022 season, as well as Ella Findlay (Auckland, New Zealand) and Kailey Hall (Exeter, New Hampshire), for the fall of 2022.
The five new additions join Sydney Drees (Eden Prairie, Minn.), Jess Torres (Humacao, Puerto Rico) and Reiss Wood (Overland Park, Kan.), who were announced during November.
"I am very excited about our team as we have a great all-around group that loves what we do and how we are doing it," said Paule. "Our three Spring 2022 additions will have immediate influence as we chose them very specifically to the fill roles that we need, and each will be a great compliment to the talent and abilities we already have in our roster."
A transfer from Memphis, Kazandjian is a member of the Canadian U20 National Team. The midfielder appeared in nine matches for the Tigers in 2021 and 10 during the 2020 season. She scored two goals for Memphis in a victory over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on August 26, 2021. Over two seasons at Memphis Kazandjian played a combined 545 minutes.
Coming to Creighton from Limestone University, a DII program in South Carolina, Luke has started every match for the Saints (24 combined) over two seasons. A back line defender, Luke has three combined assists in 2,186 minutes.
The third transfer joining the Bluejays this spring comes from University of Northwestern Ohio, an NAIA program in Lima, Ohio. Mondiri delivered 19 goals in 21 matches last season, also handing out four assists. Five of her tallies in 2021 were game winners, helping the Racers post eight victories. She tallied six goals and one assist in 2020, giving her 25 career goals, five assists and 55 points in two seasons at Northwestern Ohio.
A member of the New Zealand U20 National Team, Findlay will come to Omaha in the fall. Findlay is a defensive midfielder that played for Eastern Suburbs AFC as a junior in high school, leading her squad to the 2019 championship. A midfielder from Auckland, New Zealand, Findlay plays for Eastern suburbs women's team in the northern premier league. A New Zealand U17 and U20 National Team member, Findlay guided her team to the New Zealand women's national cup in 2019.
A goalkeeper from Exeter High School, Hall allowed just two goals over 14 matches during the 2021 season to lead the Blue Hawks to the New Hampshire State Championship. During the 2021-22 academic year Hall is attending the Darlington School in Rome, Georgia to participate in its 10-month soccer training program.
"Lara, Hannah and Ariana will have the spring season to get acclimated to their new school, new team, and our system of play and be able to hit the ground running in the fall," concluded Paule. "Our team believes we have unfinished business to address next season. This squad has identity and purpose, and we fully expect these additions to have a positive influence on our talented roster."
