Omaha, Neb. -- The Creighton Rowing squad earned the opportunity to compete in the highly touted Head of the Charles Regatta for the first time in program history on Sunday, October 23rd.
Â
The Bluejays are scheduled to race three miles upstream Boston's famous Charles River at 1:26 pm CT in the Women's Collegiate Eights race.
The team will consist of, in order from bow to stern, senior Angel Hill, junior Isabella Fier, sophomore Wendy Wilson, sophomore Emma Johnson, senior Mary Hartigan, senior Grace Frechette, senior Jacque Holdren, senior Rebecca Meyer with sophomore Grace Bruckner as the coxswain and senior Honor Foutch as the alternate.
Held in Cambridge Massachusetts, the Head of the Charles began in 1965. It is the world's largest three-day regatta 1965 and considered the Mecca for rowing outside of the Olympics.
Â
"The Head of the Charles is a coach's dream event and I could not be more excited about taking a boat to Boston," said Creighton head coach Dan Chipps.
The historic race will be available for live stream at gocreighton.com.
