Sophomore leads the BIG EAST in kills and points per set
OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton sophomore Norah Sis has been named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season after helping Creighton to a pair of road sweeps last weekend.
Sis led all BIG EAST players in points per set (6.00) and kills per set (5.50) as the Bluejays upped their win streak to 12. She also averaged 2.00 digs and 0.50 blocks per set while hitting .242.
Â
The Papillion, Neb., product opened her week with 13 kills, eight digs and a solo block in Friday's 3-0 win over Seton Hall, a contest in which the Bluejays never trailed.
Â
In Sunday's win at fourth-place St. John's, Sis had 20 kills, four digs and two blocks in just three sets of work. It was her 11th career match with 20 or more kills, but first such effort in a three set contest. Sis had seven kills in each of the first two sets as the Jays won in extra points, then added six more putaways in the clincher.
For the season, Sis leads the BIG EAST in both kills per set and points per set in all matches and in league play. The Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year was previously named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week on Aug. 29 and Oct. 10.
Ranked 13th nationally, Creighton (20-3, 12-0 BIG EAST) opens a four-match homestand on Friday at 1 p.m. when it hosts Providence.
