Ronsiek Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week

Omaha, Neb. -- Bluejay sophomore Emma Ronsiek earned her second BIG EAST Player of the Week nod during the 2021-22 season on Monday, February 21. Her first honor came on January 17, 2022.
Ronsiek led Creighton to a crucial 2-0 road swing with wins at St. John's and Seton Hall. The sophomore forward averaged 21.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and shot .517 from the field (15-of-29). Ronsiek led the Bluejays in scoring and rebounding in both outings, beginning with 16 points, five boards and four assists against the Red Storm in just 22 minutes of action, and followed with 26 points and a game-high 13 boards against the Pirates. Ronsiek's three-point shooting clip of .667 (6-of-9) ranked second among all BIG EAST players last week. In addition, she collected three critical steals during the Bluejays double overtime win against the Pirates.
With the victories, Creighton maintained its spot in second place in the BIG EAST standings and earned a bye into the Quarterfinals of the upcoming BIG EAST Women's Basketball Tournament presented by JEEP.Â
The Bluejays conclude the regular season on Sunday, February 27 at 11:00 am against DePaul at home in a game that will be televised on FS1.
