Rowing Slotted to Finish Third in the WCC Preseason Poll

Omaha, Neb. -- Coming off a third place finish in the WCC Championships in 2021, the Creighton Rowing team earned a third place prediction in the 2022Â WCC Rowing Preseason Coaches Poll, announced on Tuesday, April 12.
The third place spot in the preseason poll is the Bluejays' highest in school history. The previous top mark was fifth place both in 2021 and in 2012.
The top spot in the preseason poll went to Gonzaga, earning six first place votes and 36 overall points. San Diego grabbed the final first place vote (coaches can not vote for their own team), earning 31 points. Creighton nabbed 23 points for third place, while Portland and Loyola Marymount tied for fourth with 20 points. The final two spots went to Saint Mary's with 10 points and Santa Clara with seven.
The All-WCC Preseason Rowing Team is made up of 17 athletes from the WCC's seven member institutions, highlighted by Creighton's Destiny Jordan and Gretchen Strobbe.
The Bluejays return to the water in a home regatta against Kansas State on April 23.
