Both teams win two sets

OMAHA, Neb. -- The 2022 Creighton Volleyball team made its public debut on Saturday afternoon with the Blue-White scrimmage. The squads split four sets, with most players seeing time on both sets of the net at one time or another.

The White team won set one (25-19) before Blue took the next two sets 25-22 and 27-25. The evening ended with a 25-15 victory by the White club. Stats for the match were not publicly disseminated.

"We've had great practices but it's different when people are watching and you've got to manage nerves and go through that." said 20th year head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth. "This opportunity and then next week against South Dakota will seem even more real. Those are really beneficial opportunities, especially for players that haven't played on this stage before."

Creighton closes its exhibition season on Sunday, Aug. 21 with a 2 p.m. home match vs. South Dakota. The regular-season opens Aug. 26 vs. Iowa State in Laramie, Wyo.
