Volleyball Sweeps South Dakota in Exhibition

Regular-season starts Friday in Laramie
OMAHA, Neb. -- The No. 18 Creighton Volleyball team won all four sets of an exhibition match against defending Summit League Tournament champion South Dakota on Sunday, Aug. 21.
Scores in favor of the Bluejays were 25-16, 25-11, 25-23, 25-22.
Per agreement between the sides, full stats will not be released from the match. The programs had agreed before the match to play at least four sets no matter what to allow as many players and line-ups as possible to be utilized in preparation for the regular-season.
"I think we have some ideas on how we will start on Friday but I also think there's some positions that are really tight," said Creighton head coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth. "We may start one way on Friday and by the end of the weekend have a different line-up, and that's okay. The good thing with this team is that we've got a lot of depth, and especially when we're playing three matches on a weekend and at altitude, that's going to be a really key factor that we can lean on different people."
Creighton opens its regular-season on Friday, Aug. 26 with matches in Laramie, Wyo., against Iowa State (11 a.m.) and Wichita State (6 p.m.) as part of the season-opening Rumble in the Rockies.
