Men's Soccer Suffers 3-2 Loss to Saint Louis

Omaha, Neb. -- The seventh-ranked Creighton Men's Soccer team suffered a 3-2 loss to Saint Louis on Friday, Sept. 2 in Morrison Stadium.
Following Friday's result the Bluejays are 2-1-0 on the season, while Saint Louis moved to 1-2-0.
The Bluejays struck first in the seventh minute of play as sophomore Mark O'Neill delivered his second goal of the season, blasting a pass from junior Duncan McGuire into the back of the net from 12-yards out.
The Billikens pulled even on a penalty kick in the 20th minute, then took a 2-1 advantage on a goal from John Klein at 30:06.
Saint Louis extended its advantage by converting a set piece in the 47th minute as Alberto Suarez completed a sequence from Kevin Komodi and Klein.
Creighton freshman Alfie Pope drew the Bluejays back within striking distance in the 74th minute (73:24), converting a pass into the eight-yard box from sophomore Owen O'Malley.
The Bluejays closed the match with a 21-8 shot advantage.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Monday, Sept. 5 as the Bluejays host San Diego State at 6:30 p.m.
