Early Goal Isn't Enough as Men's Soccer Falls at Seton Hall, 2-1

South Orange, N.J. -- Playing through showering rain, Creighton Men's Soccer took an early lead on a goal from Jackson Castro but fell to Seton Hall 2-1 on Saturday, October 14.
Following Saturday's result the Bluejays fell to 3-5-5 overall and 2-2-1 in BIG EAST action, while Seton Hall climbed to 7-3-3 on the season and 2-2-1 in conference play.
The Bluejays surged ahead 1-0 in the 31st minute as Castro took a pass along the left hash mark from Miguel Arilla. Castro took one step and blasted in his third goal of the season, giving Arilla and Mark O'Neill an assist.
Seton Hall found the equalizer in the 45th minute, scoring just 11 seconds before halftime when Andrea Borg connecting with Mark Walier in front of the goal. Sam Bjork was also credited with an assist on the play as the Pirates seized the momentum heading into the break.
The difference maker in the match came on an unassisted goal by Tomas Nunez in the 57th minute (56:31), striking from 25 yards away with a crossing shot.
Seton Hall closed the match with a 13-12 shot edge, controlling possession in the second half. The Bluejays, meanwhile, directed play in the opening 45 minutes.
Creighton returns to the pitch on Wednesday, October 18th as the Bluejays host No. 3 Akron at Morrison Stadium. Kickoff is set for 6:00 pm (CT).
