Women's Basketball Hosts Nebraska Kearney in 2023-24 Exhibition Contest on Monday

Omaha, Neb. -- Hoping to begin a third consecutive trip to the BIG Dance, the 22nd ranked Creighton Women's Basketball team hosts Nebraska Kearney in its lone exhibition contest on Monday, October 30 at 6:00 pm.

- Creighton and Nebraska Kearney have met 10 times during the regular-season, with the Bluejays taking four of those contests.
- The two squads faced off in an exhibition game prior to the 2018-19 season, with Creighton posting a 100-68 win on Oct. 23, 2018
- The last time the two teams met in an official game came in 1984, a 79-48 win for Creighton on Feb. 24 at home.
- In an odd quirk, the last time the Bluejays faced Nebraska Kearney Jaylyn Agnew played for Creighton. This time it will be the first game on the bench as an assistant coach for Agnew.
- Creighton returns eight of 10 players from the 2022-23 season, including 1,848 of the 2,200 points (84%).
- Nebraska Kearney returns is top scorer from last season, Shiloh McCool (11.9 ppg) as well as Trinity Law (7.8 ppg) and Meg Burns (6.0 ppg). Law and Burns split time in the starting lineup last season.
- Creighton reached the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season in 2022-23, posting a 22-9 mark. Nebraska Kearney, meanwhile, fell in the first round of the NCAA Division II Tournament for an overall record of 28-5.
- Creighton opens its regular-season on Tuesday, Nov. 5 in a neutral site contest with North Dakota State at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls, S.D.
- Nebraska Kearney opens the 2023-24 season against Minnesota-Crookston on Nov. 10.
- Creighton head coach Jim Flanery enters his 22nd season as the head coach for the Bluejays with a career record of 401-262 (.605).
- Nebraska Kearney head coach Drew Johnson is beginning his first season with the Lopers. His previous stops include Newman University, head coach (2021-23) and Bethel College University, head coach (2017-21).
