Men's Basketball Moves to 15th in AP Poll

Bluejays are 5-1 with a pair of road games this week
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball team dropped seven spots in both the Associated Press Top 25 poll and in this week's USA Today Coaches poll. The Bluejays are now 15th in the AP poll and 14th in the Coaches poll.
CU fell after a 1-1 week at the 2023 Hall of Fame Classic in Kansas City, as it had been seventh in the Coaches poll and eighth in the AP poll the previous two weeks. The Bluejays are 5-1 overall.
Including today's ranking, Creighton has now been ranked by the AP 126 times in program history, with 98 of those under the direction of McDermott. Creighton is 157-64 all-time as a ranked team, including a 123-52 figure under McDermott. Creighton has been ranked at least one week in 10 of McDermott's 14 seasons on The Hilltop after doing it just five different seasons in program history before his 2010 arrival. Creighton's best AP ranking in program history is seventh, done five times (Jan. 16, 2017, March 10, 2020, March 18, 2020, Jan. 7, 2021 and Nov. 28, 2022).
Creighton is one of four BIG EAST Conference schools in the top 25, joining No. 3 Marquette and No. 4 Connecticut and No. 18 Villanova. Purdue is atop the poll after defeating Marquette to win the Maui Invitational last week.
The Bluejays will play a pair of road games this week, starting on Thursday with an 8 p.m. game at Oklahoma State that will be broadcast on ESPN2 and 1620 The Zone.
