BIG EAST Announces Spring Television Slate

Bluejay Baseball Featured Four Times, Twice on National Television
New York, N.Y. -- The BIG EAST Conference announced its spring Olympic sports national television schedule on Thursday, February 16. Creighton is featured four times on the schedule, twice on national television. A total of 13 events across men's and women's lacrosse, baseball and softball will air to a national audience, with FS1, FS2 and CBS Sports Network selecting contests during both the regular season and conference postseason. BIG EAST broadcast partner FOX Sports will carry seven contests, including the championship games of women's lacrosse and softball.
In addition to the national television slate, the BIG EAST Digital Network available on FloSports will produce more than 45 events. Combined with school-produced competitions, FloSports will carry upwards of 275 BIG EAST events this spring.
Creighton Baseball's contests with Nebraska on May 9 (CBSSN at 7:00 p.m.) and the series opener against BIG EAST rival Connecticut on May 18 (FS1 at 6:00 p.m.) are the national broadcasts. Bluejay baseball also has a pair of games on the BIG EAST Digital Network/FloSports. Creighton's series opening road game at Butler on April 28 at 2:00 p.m. as well as the regular season finale against Connecticut on May 20 at 12:00 p.m.
BEDN on FloSports coverage includes both regular-season and postseason competitions. Among the 46 events slated for BEDN are the opening round games of the BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse, Softball and Baseball Championships, as well as comprehensive coverage of the BIG EAST Outdoor Track & Field Championships. BEDN will also stream the title matches of the BIG EAST Men's and Women's Tennis Championships. Championship coverage concludes on May 27 at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio, with baseball's championship Saturday. The final is slated for noon on FloSports, with the if-necessary game scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
In addition to live events, the BIG EAST Digital Network also produces original content available on FloSports and on the Conference's social media channels. Included in that lineup is the Conference's weekly Olympic Sports features show, "The Scoop," hosted by Meghan Caffrey and John Fanta.Â
FOX Sports continued to bring postseason coverage of the BIG EAST Softball Championship follows on FS2, with the semifinals on May 12 at noon and 6 p.m. FS2 coverage continues on Championship Saturday at 4 p.m. on May 13, with the if-necessary game scheduled for 7 p.m. on FS1. For the second time in three years, the softball championship is set to return to Burrill Family Field in Storrs, Conn. Starting in 2023, the tournament field will expand from four to six teams. Jeep is the presenting sponsor for all 22 of the BIG EAST Championships.
