Rowing's Grace Frechette Named CSC Academic All-District

Omaha, Neb. -- Bluejay women's rower Grace Frechette was recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC) with Academic All-District Team honors on Tuesday, May 23.

The 2023 Academic All District ® Women's At-Large Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for the combined performances on the course and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America ® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions. NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division II and NAIA. Sports eligible for women's at-large program consideration include beach volleyball, bowling, crew/rowing, fencing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing and water polo.

This is the first recognition from College Sports Communicators for Frechette, as Creighton had not Rowing athlete named Academic All-District in more than 20 years before today's recognition.

In her fourth year as a member of the Creighton Rowing squad, Frechette was selected to the WCC All-Conference squad during the 2023 WCC Championships on May 13. A Minnesota native, Grace is a Biochemistry major with hopes of one day becoming an astronaut. During spring 2023 semester she delivered a 3.976 GPA to raise her cumulative GPA to 3.841.

Frechette moves on to be listed on the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Those honorees will be announced on June 22nd.
