Five men and five women honored by College Sports Communicators
OMAHA, Neb. -- Ten members of the Creighton Cross Country and Track programs -- five men and five women -- have been recognized by College Sports Communicators with Academic All-District Team honors. This is the first recognition from College Sports Communicators for all 10 individuals.

The 2023 Academic All District ® Track/Cross Country Teams, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for the combined performances on the course/track and in the classroom. Creighton's 10 honorees, all of whom own a GPA of 3.87 or higher, each advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. The women's team will be announced on June 28th, with the men's team a day later. Creighton's last cross country or track athlete to be named Academic All-American was Nick Monkemeyer in 2019 and 2020.
The men's honorees are seniors Danny Bohnemann (Leavenworth, Kan. / Finance and Technology major) and Boston Small (St. Joseph, Mo. / Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions major), junior Eli Vedral (Wahoo, Neb. / Graphic Design major) and sophomores Henry Slagle (Omaha, Neb. / Accounting major) and Tommy Ward (Maryville, Tenn. / Economics and Studio Art major).
On the women's side the Bluejays to be recognized were seniors Danielle Hotalling (Blue Springs, Mo. / Biology and Public Health major), Liz Kettler (Hiawatha, Kan. / Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions major) and Ashley Riley (Maryville, Mo. / Exercise Science and Pre-Health Professions major) as well as juniors Jessica Barich (Highlands Ranch, Colo. / Financial Analysis and Marketing With Strategic Communications major) and Morgan Koca (Shawnee, Kan. / Elementary Education major).
Annually ranked among the national leaders in team GPA, the Creighton men's program owned a 3.83 GPA in the recently-completed spring, while the Bluejay women owned a 3.77 GPA. The Bluejays are coached by Chris Gannon and Matthew Fayers.
