Morgan Maly Named Tournament MVP
Colorado Springs, Colo. -- Creighton women's basketball's foursome of Lauren Jensen (Lakeville, Minn.), Morgan Maly (Crete, Neb.), Molly Mogensen (Farmington, Minn.) and Emma Ronsiek (Sioux Falls, S.D.) collected the 2023 USA Basketball 3X National Championship with three victories on Sunday, May 7.
The Bluejays bested Duke (21-17) in the Championship match after getting past Villanova (21-18) in the semifinals and Seton Hall (20-19) in the quarterfinals.
Creighton went 2-1 on Saturday, May 6 advancing to the knockout round as the second seed from the C Group of Pool Play. Saturday saw the Bluejays best Tennessee (22-12) in the first game, fall to Gonzaga (21-19) and defeat Utah (21-14).
Following Sunday's action Morgan Maly was named the tournament MVP.
