After a scoreless first half the Bluejays broke through on a corner kick piece as freshman Miguel Arilla found classmate Andrija Savic to put Creighton up 1-0 in the 49th minute (48:48).
Kansas City answered in the 64th minute (63:36) as Brice Middleton finished a series of passes from Hector Taboada and Julien Le Bourdoulous with a goal from one yard out.
