BIG EAST Announces Men's Basketball League Schedule

OMAHA, Neb. – The Creighton men's basketball team starts and finishes BIG EAST play with Villanova and Marquette as part of a 20-game league slate for 2023-24 announced on Friday, Sept. 15.

Creighton's 11th season in the BIG EAST starts on Dec. 20 in Omaha with a match-up against Villanova. The Bluejays will then take a holiday break before returning to action with a Dec. 30 game at defending conference champion Marquette.

January opens with a road trip to the nation's capital to take on Georgetown and new head coach Ed Cooley on Jan. 2. Four days later Cooley's old squad, Providence, is slated to visit CHI Health Center Omaha.

Three of CU's next four games will be on the road, a stretch that starts with a Jan. 9 game at DePaul. Hall of Fame coach Rick Pitino brings his St. John's squad to Omaha on Jan. 13th before the Jays visit Connecticut (Jan. 17) and Seton Hall (Jan. 20).

A stretch of three straight home games begins when CU hosts Xavier on Jan. 23, continues on Jan. 27 vs. DePaul, and concludes when the Bluejays entertain Butler on Groundhog's Day.

Creighton plays at Providence on Feb. 7, then visits Xavier on Feb. 10 in challenging week that features a trip to two of the league's most spirited environments. CU hosts Georgetown on Feb. 13 before making the trek to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse on Feb. 17.

All 11 teams in the BIG EAST have two home games and two road games to close the season. CU's homestretch starts on Feb. 25 with its first regular-season game at Madison Square Garden since 2015. CU's final two home games feature visits from Seton Hall (Feb. 28) and Marquette (March 2).

The regular-season concludes on March 9 with a road game at Villanova that will be played inside Wells Fargo Center.

The 2024 BIG EAST Tournament is scheduled for March 13-16 and will once again be held at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Game times and television information will be announced at a later date. BIG EAST games will continue to be televised by FOX Sports, the league's television partner for the past 10 years. CBS Sports will present a select number of games across CBS, Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network. All conference contests, and non-conference home games, will be televised on a linear network, principally by FOX.

One of six schools with a win in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments, Creighton went 24-13 last season after a one-point loss in the Elite Eight. The Bluejays return three starters to the floor in 2023-24 in search of an eighth straight top-four finish in the BIG EAST.
