Rowing Defeats Kansas State in Fall Opener

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Rowing began the Fall 2023 season with a victory over Kansas State in a pair of races on Saturday, September 16.
Both races were head-to-head battles with multiple squads from both the Bluejays and Wildcats. Both the 4+ as well as a 8+ races used a distance of 3,000 meters.
Within the 4+ boat the team of of Grace Bruckner, Isabella Fier, Paige Harty, Emma Johnson and Ivy Williams posted a time of 12:03.8 to earn the victory over Kansas State's top squad who finished with a time of 12:09.4
The 8+ race saw Bruckner, Fier, Harty, Johnson and Williams team with Lily Zeimetz, Avery Boucher, Nina Ricci and Wendy Wilson to post a time of 10:51.5. The Wildcats top boat was the C team with a time of 11:01.7
"This is the earliest we have ever had a competition and I am proud how we have started the season," said head coach Dan Chipps. "We have a lot of upside potential and are ready to put in the a lot of hard work!"
The Bluejays next competition date in Saturday, September 23 in the Blue/White Scrimmage.
