Ramadan and Arilla Deliver Goals in Bluejays' 2-1 Win at DePaul

Chicago, Ill. -- Behind goals from Omar Ramadan and Miguel Arilla, the Creighton Men's Soccer team posted their second consecutive win in BIG EAST play with a 2-1 win at DePaul on Saturday, September 23.
The win pushed Creighton to 3-3-3 on the season and 2-0-0 in BIG EAST action, while DePaul fell to 1-5-2 overall and 0-2-0 in conference action.
A transfer from DePaul in the spring of 2023, Ramadan burned his former teammates for three points in Saturday's victory. Ramadan put Creighton ahead 1-0 with his first goal as a Bluejay, scoring in the 20th minute (19:52). The Illinois native coraled a deflected shot by Jackson Castro, then fired a crossing shot from left to right to beat Gandhi Cruz.
Creighton's second tally saw Ramadan set up freshman Miguel Arilla with a pass just outside the box. The native of Spain beat three Blue Demon defenders for a goal past Gruz to the near post with 61:15 on the clock.
The Bluejays surrendered an unassisted goal in the 80th minute (79:57) as Liam Mullins beat Creighton's Blake Gillingham to the bottom quadrant of the net.
Creighton closed the match with a 31-14 shot edge as well as a 9-3 advantage on corners created.
Creighton's next match brings the Bluejays home to face Xavier on Friday, September 29 at 7:30 p.m.
