
Junior Duo Earn BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

Norah Sis and Kendra Wait are honored by BIG EAST
OMAHA, Neb. -- Juniors Norah Sis and Kendra Wait have been honored by the BIG EAST Conference after helping the Creighton Volleyball team to the Bluejay Invitational title over the weekend. Sis was named Offensive Player of the Week while Wait brought home Defensive Player of the Week accolades. Both women were named to the All-Tournament Team at the Bluejay Invitational.
Sis is a four-time BIG EAST Offensive Player of the week honoree after picking up three such accolades last season. It's the third time in Wait's career that she has been named Defensive Player of the Week, having earned the honor once in 2021, 2022 and now 2023.
Sis earned Bluejay Invitational MVP honors after averaging 4.08 kills, 3.33 digs, 0.58 blocks and 4.54 points per set in victories over Ball State, LSU and Northern Iowa. It was the fourth Tournament MVP recognition of her career, and seventh time she's been named to an All-Tournament Team.

The Papillion, Neb,. product started her week with 19 kills and 16 digs in a 3-2 win vs. defending Mid-American Conference champion Ball State, adding a pair of blocks and a pair of aces. Sis owned five kills and four digs in the fifth set, a 15-11 victory. In CU's 3-0 sweep over LSU, Sis finished with 14 kills, eight digs and three blocks. The Preseason BIG EAST Player of the Year also surpassed 1,000 career digs in her 70th career match, tying a program record for fewest matches to reach that milestone. She concluded the week with 16 kills and 16 digs in a 3-1 win over defending Missouri Valley Conference champion Northern Iowa.
Wait did a little bit of everything, earning All-Tournament Team honors at the Bluejay Invitational for the third straight season after averaging 11.67 assists, 3.50 digs, 1.00 blocks and 1.00 kills per set. It was the eight different time that the Gardner, Kan., native has picked up All-Tournament Team acclaim.

Wait had 56 assists, 13 digs, five blocks and four kills in Friday's 3-2 win over Ball State. On Saturday, Wait contributed 42 assists, seven digs and two blocks while setting the Bluejay offense to .381 hitting. All five of CU's primary attackers hit .350 or better against LSU. She concluded the weekend with 42 assists, 22 digs, seven kills and five blocks on .583 hitting in a 3-1 win over Northern Iowa.

Creighton (5-1) has three matches this week, starting with Wednesday night's 7 p.m. match at No. 4 Nebraska that will be televised nationally on BTN. The Bluejays then head across their home city to take on Omaha (Friday, 7 pm on NPM) and Iowa State (Sunday, 4:30 pm) at Baxter Arena.
