Morgan Maly Continues World Travels with Team USA, Heading To Mongolia

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton senior Morgan Maly heads back on the road with Team USA for the third time since June as Maly and her team will compete at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 Nations League Final Sept. 13-15 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
The 2023 USA 3x3 U21 Nations League Final Team includes Maly, Minnesota's Mara Braun as well as Villanova's Christina Dalce and Lucy Olsen. Braun, Dalce, Maly and Olsen were all members of the USA 3x3 U21 Nations League Team that finished with five-of-six stop titles at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 U21 Nations League Asia-Pacific Conference in Handan, China, in June. Maly, Olsen and Dalce also competed for Team USA in a 3x3 event in Edmonton, Canada in late July.
Before this summer Maly had left the United States just once for a family trip to Mexico. The summer she went to China from June 23-29, to Canada from July 29-30, now to Mongolia.

Launched in 2017, the men's and women's FIBA 3x3 Nations League features two age groups – U23 and U21 – with dozens of national federations competing. The competition featured six three-game tournaments in seven days. The winning team in each of 13 conference events hosted worldwide qualified for the FIBA 3x3 Nations League Final.

Different than 5-on-5, 3x3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute game clock and 12-second shot clock. Play is continuous, as teams "clear" the ball behind the 2-point line following a made basketball, defensive rebound or steal. The first team to score 21 points via 1-pointer field goals or 2-pointers behind the arc is victorious; or if time expires then the team leading wins.
