Texas native is a four-star recruit
OMAHA, Neb. – Four-star recruit Hudson Greer, a 6-foot-6 guard from Lakeway, Texas, signed with Creighton Basketball on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Greer will have four years of eligibility with the Bluejays.
Greer, who spent the last three seasons at Lake Travis High School in Austin, Texas, is currently playing in Florida for prep school powerhouse Montverde Academy. That's the alma mater of former Bluejay guard Ryan Nembhard, the 2021 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, as well as Scottie Barnes, RJ Barrett, Cade Cunningham, Joel Embiid, D'Angelo Russell, Ben Simmons and Cooper Flagg.
"We are thrilled to add Hudson to our program" said Creighton head coach Greg McDermott. "While he is an accomplished three-point shooter, his versatility and work ethic set him apart. His ability to score in different ways will fit perfectly in our up-tempo system. We can't wait to get him on campus!"
Greer is a 39.1 percent three-point shooter throughout his high school career and averaged 22.4 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per contest last winter. He had 11 games with 30 or more points and scored more than 1,500 points in three seasons with Lake Travis, reaching the Class 6A-Region IV semifinals after winning the District 26-6A championship last season. He was one of a dozen nominees for the Austin Area High School Sports Awards for Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
As a sophomore, Greer put up 24.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 55 percent from the field and 42 percent from three-point range. That campaign came after he put up 11.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per contest as a freshman.
Last summer he averaged 13.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists on the Nike EYBL circuit.
Greer is regarded as a Top 60 prospect in the Class of 2025 by ESPN (No. 27), On3 (No .42) , Rivals (No. 46) and 247Sports (No. 58), and the No. 43 overall recruit in 247Sports' Composite rankings.
He was also recruited by Kansas, Arkansas and Alabama, among other schools.
