Men's Basketball Moves to 19th in Coaches Poll; 21st in AP Poll

Bluejays play three games this week in Las Vegas
OMAHA, Neb. -- The Creighton men's basketball team moved to 21st in the Associated Press poll and 19th in the USA Today Coaches poll on Monday.
The Bluejays dropped after losing its lone game last week after a 4-0 start.
Creighton (4-1) has been ranked in each of the last 16 AP polls dating to last season. Creighton's best AP ranking in program history is seventh, done five times (Jan. 16, 2017, March 10, 2020, March 18, 2020, Jan. 7, 2021 and Nov. 28, 2022). CU owns 29 weeks in the AP Top 10 in its history, with all but one of those recognitions coming during Greg McDermott's tenure.
Including today's ranking, Creighton has now been ranked by the AP 145 times in program history, with 118 of those under the direction of McDermott. Creighton is 179-74 all-time as a ranked team, including a 145-62 figure under McDermott. Creighton has been ranked at least one week in 11 of McDermott's 15 seasons on The Hilltop after doing it just five different seasons in program history before his 2010 arrival.
Creighton is one of four BIG EAST Conference schools in the AP Top 25, joining No. 2 Connecticut, No. 10 Marquette and No. 22 Xavier. The top five teams in the AP poll are Kansas, UConn, Gonzaga, Auburn and Iowa State.
Creighton plays three games at the Players Era Festival in Las Vegas this week, starting Tuesday at 1 p.m. Central against San Diego State.
