South Dakota State returns three of five starters from last season, including 2024-25 Summit League Preseason Player of the Year Brooklyn Meyer (18.7 ppg and 7.3 rpg).
Scouting #21 Creighton (0-0)
The Bluejays enter the 2024-25 season after a second-round exit in last year's NCAA Tournament, where they fell 67-63 to #6 UCLA despite a stellar 52-point combined performance from Emma Ronsiek, Lauren Jensen and Morgan Maly.
This season, Creighton returns four of its five starters, including All-BIG EAST selections Jensen and Maly. The duo accounted for 1,044 points, 328 rebounds and 174 assists combined.
Molly Mogensen and Mallory Brake round out the list of returning starters for the 2024-25 season. Last season, the pair ranked fourth and fifth in overall scoring, accumulating 246 and 158 points, respectively.
Creighton will be without a key piece of their lineup with the departure of Emma Ronsiek. The forward started all 32 games for the Bluejays, converting offensively as Creighton's second-leading scorer, with 536 points.
Land of 10,000 Lakes
Creighton has thrived recruiting from the state of Minnesota, discovering talent left and right along the recruiting trail. Minnesota talent of Mallory Brake, Lauren Jensen, Kiani Lockett and Molly Mogensen make up four of five Bluejays in the
projected starting lineup for the season opener at South Dakota State. Â
Brake, Jensen and Mogensen have combined for 195 starts in a Bluejays' uniform, while Lockett is anticipated to make her first career start Friday night. Adding in 66 starts from senior Morgan Maly (Crete, Neb.), the Creighton starting five has a combined 261 starts over the course of their Bluejays' career.
Location, Location, Location

Although the Bluejays and South Dakota State often battle on the recruiting trail, the only overlapping state among the 2024-25 rosters is Minnesota. The breakdown of home states for each roster provides a glimpse into the recruiting footprint for each team.
