UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Two members of the Creighton Volleyball team have been named to Penn State's All-Regional Team, as Bluejay outside hitters Ava Martin and Norah Sis were recognized following a vote of on-site media at the event.
Martin averaged 3.73 kills, 1.40 digs and 0.47 aces per set in four NCAA Tournament matches over the past two weeks. She led Creighton with 17 kills in Sunday's match against Penn State after sharing team-high honors with 15 kills in Friday's win over Texas.
Sis averaged 2.93 kills, 2.87 digs, 0.60 aces and 0.60 blocks per set in the NCAA Tournament. She shared team-high accolades with 15 kills in Friday's win over Texas, and her nine aces were the most by a Bluejay ever for a single NCAA Tournament.
It's the latest honor for the Bluejay duo, both of whom were named All-BIG EAST, All-Region and will learn on Wednesday if they're once again AVCA All-Americans.
Penn State's Jess Mruzik was named the MVP of the Regional, and was also joined on the team by Martin, Sis, Gillian Grimes (PSU), Camryn Hannah (PSU), Izzy Starck (PSU) and Madisen Skinner (Texas).
Creighton defeated two-time defending national champion Texas in four sets on Friday before losing a five-set battle at second-ranked Penn State on Sunday night, finishing its most successful season in program history with a 32-3 record.
