Women's Golf Finishes 17th at Red Rocks Invitational

SEDONA, Ariz. -- Freshman Annie Dawson led the Creighton women's golf team to a 17th place finish at the Red Rocks Invitational on Sunday afternoon in Sedona, Ariz.
Dawson sandwiched a second-round 74 with a pair of 76s while leading Creighton for the second straight tournament. The freshman has now authored 10 straight rounds in the 70s, and tied for 44th in the event with her 226 aggregate.
Three Bluejays tied for 78 with a 233 total to tie for 78th place. Freshman Katharine Marshall opened with a 79 before back-to-back 77s, while sophomore Annika Yturralde improved upon her first round 80 with loops of 78 and 75. Junior Eleanor Hudepohl began play with a team-best 75 before subsequent rounds of 81 and 77.
Rounding out the Bluejay lineup was Karsen Morrison. The rookie began with a 92 before closing with a pair of 83s for a 258 total.
Seattle (294-289-298=881) and tournament host Northern Arizona (295-296-290=881) shared the team title with 881 (+17) totals, two shots better than third-place Grand Canyon (289-300-294=883).
Northern Illinios' Emily Romancrew (71-72-70=213) finished 3-under par to win medalist honors by one shot over Northern Colorado's Louise Dahl (73-72-69=214).
The tournament took place at Oakcreek Country Club in Sedona, Ariz., which played to 6,200 yards on Saturday and 6,065 yards on Sunday on its Par 72 layout. The event featured 20 teams and 114 participants.
Creighton is back on the course on March 25-27 at the Ozarks National Invitational in Hollister, Mo.
