Edmond, Okla. -- Creighton Rowing opened its 2024 spring season with a dual regetta with Central Oklahoma. The Bluejays fell in each of the three races on Saturday, March 9.
The Bluejays fell in the varsity 8 race, by 3.1 seconds as the Bluejays finished with a time of 7:19.6 and Central Oklahoma crossed in 7:16.5.
The 2v8 saw the Bluejays deliver a time of 8:11.8, while UCO finished with a time of 8:09.6. The final race, varsity 4, saw Central Oklahoma finish in 8:15.4, while Creighton's boat posted a time of 8:33.0
"We are coming off a good week of spring training in Waco," said head coach Dan Chipps. "While today was not the result we wanted, it provided a good set of information. Specifically the areas we need to tighten up and improve as our season moves forward."
"Overall this was a really good week of training and team bonding. I'm excited that our season is off to a strong start and we look forward to getting on the water for two more weeks of training before our next regetta at Tulsa," added Chipps.
The Bluejays return to action on Saturday, March 23 in a road matchup against Tulsa.
