Nolan Sailors Claims BIG EAST Player of the Week

Omaha, Neb. -- After leading the Bluejay Baseball program to a 4-1 mark last week, Creighton junior Nolan Sailors earned the BIG EAST Player of the Week on Monday, April 8.
Sailors closed the week 10-for-21 (.476) with nine RBI and five runs scored, guiding Creighton to four wins including a 5-3 win over #24 Nebraska on April 2. In the Bluejays' three-game series with Butler to open BIG EAST action Sailors went 5-for-12 (.417) with five RBI and three runs scored. Pushed into the leadoff and center field role for the final two games with Butler, Nolan was a catalyst atop the Creighton lineup, reaching base in eight of his 11 trips to the plate.
Sailors and the Bluejays take on Omaha on Tuesday, April 9, then head to Cincinnati for a three-game series against Xavier over the weekend.

BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week
Ryan Reich, Seton Hall, So., RHP (Selinsgrove, Pa.)
Reich led the Pirates to a 1-0 win over Georgetown, with a no-hitter through seven innings. The sophomore was lights out on the mound striking out a career-high 13 batters in seven innings of scoreless work. The 13 strikeouts are the most in a single game by a Pirate since Tyler Burnham struck out 14 on May 3, 2021.Â

Tyler Banks, Butler, Gr., RHP
Banks tossed 5.0 innings and limited the Bluejays to just three hits and zero runs in Friday's series opening win.
Garrett Coe, UConn, Sr., LHP
In Saturday's win over Xavier, Coe pitched 7.1 innings and allowed just 4 hits in an 8-2 victory.
Everett Catlett, Georgetown, R-So., LHP
Pitched eight innings in a win over Seton Hall, striking out six batters and allowing just three hits without a run scored.
Jed Boyle, St. John's, Gr., RHP
Boyle allowed just one hit in 3.2 innings of work over the weekend, picking up a save and a win over Villanova. In 2.1 frames of action on Sunday, he pitched a seven-strikeout performance to lead the Red Storm to a 3-1 win in extra innings.
Luke Hoskins, Xavier, Jr., RHP
Hoskins went a career-long 8.0 innings in Friday's 9-5 win at UConn, allowing one run on five hits with five strikeouts to just one walk.Â
