Omaha, Neb. -- The quartet of Shayla Edwards, Paige Harty, Emma Johnson and Rachel Malander each earned College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team honors on Tuesday, June 25.
The 2024 Academic All District ® Women's At-Large Team, selected by CSC, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for the combined performances on the course and in the classroom. The quartet honored for the 2023-24 season mark the second consecutive season that at least one member of Creighton's Rowing team was recognized by the CSC. Last season Grace Frechette earned the first CSC Academic All-District nod. Edwards, Harty, Johnson and Malander moved that number to five.
Edwards is a sophomore on the squad, posting a 4.0 in neuroscience during her first four semesters as a Bluejay,
Honored as an All-WCC First Team selection, Harty posted a 4.0 as a biology major. The sophomore completed her fourth semester at Creighton.
A junior nursing major, Johnson has a 3.99 over six semesters, while Malander has a 4.0 over her two years at Creighton as a nursing major.
Edwards and Harty will be listed on the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Those honorees will be announced on July 16th.
