Weather Impacts Men's Soccer's 1-1 Draw with Loyola Chicago

Omaha, Neb. -- Battling through a pair of lightning delays, Creighton Men's Soccer battled Loyola Chicago to a 1-1 draw in the opening round of the Jesuit Invitational on Thursday, August 29.
Creighton moved to 1-0-2 following Thursday's action, while Loyola closed the contest 0-1-1.
The Bluejays struck first as Andrija Savic headed home a pass from Miguel Arilla in the 39th minute (38:43). Shortly after halftime the Ramblers responded as Jack McFeely pushed in a pass from Julian Csneros and Quinten Blair in the 48th minute (47:56).
During the 57th minute of action lightning caused the first delay of the contest. Once play resumed it was just six minutes on the clock before a second lightning delay sent both squads back indoors.
The third restart proved lucky and unlucky as the two teams battled to a 1-1 draw just before another cell of storms hit the area.
Creighton out shot the Ramblers 20-7 in the contest and held an 11-2 edge on corner kicks.
The Bluejays return to action on Sunday, September 1 in the second match of the Jesuit Invitational at 5:00 p.m.
