Women's Basketball Opens International Trip with 75-63 Win over Barcelona All-Stars

Barcelona, Spain -- Sparked by a 13-0 to open the game and 17 points by senior Lauren Jensen, Creighton Women's Basketballl began its three-game international trip with a 75-63 win over the Barcelona All-Stars on Tuesday, August 6.
The trio of Jensen, Morgan Maly and Mallory Brake each contributed to the early surge as Jensen had eight points, while Maly delivered a three and Brake scored on the inside.
After Barcelona closed within four at 13-9, Maly connected twice in the closing possessions of the frame to send the game to the second with the Bluejays holding a 19-12 edge.
Fellow senior Jayme Horan showed her range to open the second as the Omaha native drained three-pointers on consecutive possessions to ignite a 10-2 run, pushing the Creighton lead to 29-14 and at the half the Bluejays held a 42-27 edge.
The second half saw the Bluejays extend their lead to as much as 75-57, before Barcelona scored the final six points of the game.
Jensen's 17 points led Creighton, while Maly (13), Brake (10) and Kennedy Townsend (10) all finished in double figures.
The final two games of the trip come on Thursday, August 8 in Barcelona and on Saturday, August 10 in Greece.
