Men's Soccer Begins Road Schedule at Grand Canyon on Monday

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Men's Soccer opens its 2024 road schedule as the Bluejays face Grand Canyon at 9:00 p.m. (CT) in Phoenix, Arizona.
Series History: Creighton Trails Grand Canyon, 2-1-0
The Bluejays first road match of the season takes Creighton to Phoenix to take on Grand Canyon on Monday. The Lopes have taken the last two meetings with the Bluejays, both last season and in 2018.
Creighton's victory in the three meetings came in 2017, courtesy of a double overtime win.

Scouting Creighton (2-1-2)
After suffering their first loss of the season, Creighton has little time to regroup as the Bluejays travel to (RV) Grand Canyon for a match on Monday.
Freshman Gavrilo Civric and sophomore Miguel Arilla share the team lead with six points thus far, Civric delivering three goals while Arilla has two goals and a pair of assists.
In net the Bluejays have gone with Blake Gillingham throughout. The junior has made 10 saves and allowed nine goals thus far for a 1.50 GAA.
Scouting (RV) Grand Canyon (3-1-0)
Grand Canyon enters the match with the Bluejays after posting a 2-0 win over (RV) Omaha on Friday. The Lopes are a perfect 2-0-0 in home matches, also besting Western Illinois. Grand Canyon has not allowed a goal in those two home contests, defeating Western Illinois 3-0.
The Lopes other victory this season came at Duke, 3-2 on August 30. The lone loss was at Elon, 2-1 on September 2.
Bright Nutornutsi anchors the Lopes offensive with five goals and one assist (11 points) in four contests. He has more than half of Grand Canyon's nine goals this season.
In goal the Lopes have turned exclusively to Leon Schmidt this season. Schmidt has surrendered four goals for a 1.00 GAA, making 19 saves.
