Mogensen and Jensen Shine in 92-71 Win Over DePaul

Omaha, Neb. -- Four Bluejays finished in double-figures, led by a combined 41 from seniors Molly Mogensen and Lauren Jensen, as Creighton Women's Basketball defeated DePaul 92-71 on January 18.
The win lifted the Bluejays to 15-3 on the season and 7-0 in BIG EAST action, while DePaul fell to 9-11 overall and 4-3 in conference play.
Both teams opening the game clicking on offense as the first 10 minutes saw 44 combined points scored, including five lead changes. DePaul closed the quarter with six of the eight final points to take a 23-21 edge into the second quarter.
The Bluejays seized control with a 13-3 surge to open the second quarter, getting seven points from Jensen to take a 34-26 lead (5:49). After seeing the Blue Demons trim the game to 36-32 (4:15), Creighton answered with 12 of the final 15 points in the frame to take a 48-35 lead at the half.
Creighton held DePaul at bay throughout the second half, never allowing the Blue Demons closer than nine points and pushing their advantage to as much as 22 points (88-66) late in the fourth quarter (3:13).
Mogensen led Creighton with 21 points, while Jensen delivered 20 points. Lockett and Townsend rounded out the Bluejays in double figures with 12 and 10 points respectively, while Maly led the team with 10 rebounds.
Jorie Allen led all scorers with 22 points, while Shakara McCline and Angelina Smith finished with 12 and 11 points.
Creighton returns to action on Wednesday, January 22 at Hinkle Fieldhouse against Butler at 6:00 p.m.
