Men's Soccer Takes on Butler in Final Road Match on Saturday

Omaha, Neb. -- Creighton Men's Soccer plays its final regular season road match of the 2025 season on Saturday, October 25 at Butler. Due to changes in flights, the match has been moved to start time of 11:30 am.

Scouting Xavier (5-8-1, 2-2-1 BE)
The month of October has treated the Butler Bulldogs well, as the team recorded a 3-0-1 record against three Big East rivals and one non-conference opponent.Â
Heading into the brawl with the Bluejays, the Bulldogs are fresh off a 1-1 draw at Xavier. The lone Butler goal of the evening came off the foot of Ryan Hannosh for his first of the season.Â
Both Brendan Cunningham and Aiden Benitez were credited with the assist on the score.
Benitez, recording his fourth assist against Xavier, spearheads Butler's offense with four goals to pair with his quartet of assists. As a unit, the Bulldogs have attacked on seven different fronts this season.Â
Butler's stronghold in the goal is Aurie Briscoe, who has played 1,260 minutes in between the posts. The graduate student allowed an average 1.71 goals per game, executed 48 saves and recorded two shutouts over 14 matches. Â

Before heading into their final road match of the regular season at Butler, the Bluejays most recently played Villanova to a 1-1 draw.
Creighton dominated offensively against Villanova, holding an 18–7 shot advantage over 90 minutes. Despite that, the Wildcats struck first on a 75th-minute penalty kick to earn the 1-0 edge.
The Bluejays found the equalizer in the 84th minute, with graduate student Martin Herrera and junior Miguel Arilla teaming up to assist sophomore Bautista Rossi's third goal of the season.
Leading the team since the beginning of the season, Arilla tops the charts with five goals and four assists. Collectively, the team has scored 17 times this season, with seven different finding the back of the net.
Redshirt freshman Matthew Hudson, in the net for each of the Bluejays' 13 contests, allowed just 13 goals this season, delivered seven shutouts and executed 40 saves in that time.Â
Bluejays Notch Sixth Goal in the Final Ten Minutes
Creighton's game-tying goal at Villanova on October 17 in the 84th minute (83:14) to pull even against the Wildcats. It was the sixth time this season the Bluejays have scored in the final ten minutes of a match. Twice those goals provided a 1-0 win, while the other three extended Creighton's edge to 2-0. The Bluejays at 5-0-1 in those contests.
