OMAHA, Neb. – Hudson Greer will redshirt, Creighton men's basketball head coach Greg McDermott announced on Tuesday.
A 6-foot-7 guard from Lakeway, Texas, Greer will be able to practice and travel with the Bluejays while preserving four years of eligibility.
"After numerous conversations with Hudson and his family, we have mutually agreed that redshirting is the best path for his future development," said McDermott. "It was a very difficult decision, as Hudson is a very talented and competitive player that could impact winning this season. I'm proud of Hudson for choosing to invest in his development. We believe that his talent, work ethic and competitive nature will lead to an incredible career in a Bluejay uniform. Our staff is already working with him on a daily basis to sharpen his skill set and continue to develop his body. I'm certain that this decision will lead to an impactful role in our program next season. We couldn't be more excited that he is a Bluejay."
No. 23 Creighton (1-0) visits No. 19 Gonzaga (2-0) tonight at 9 p.m. Central in a game that will air on ESPN.
