Season's Greetings, Bluejays!
The fall semester has officially come to a close. Final exams concluded last week, and most of our student-athletes have now returned home for a well-deserved break after giving their all in the classroom and in competition.
I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who supports our student-athletes throughout the year—our professors, academic advisors, athletic administrators, coaches, and staff. Your dedication is essential to providing a meaningful and rewarding Creighton experience, and we are truly grateful for all you do.
As we reflect on the semester, we have much to celebrate. Our athletic programs earned NCAA Tournament appearances, achieved program-best finishes, and made significant strides toward future success.

Outstanding Volleyball Season
The volleyball team delivered another outstanding season, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight for the second consecutive year before falling in a hard-fought match to Kentucky. This marks the third Elite Eight appearance in program history.
Head coach Brian Rosen became the only first-year head volleyball coach in BIG EAST history to win multiple NCAA Tournament matches. The team finished 28–6 overall, captured its 12th consecutive BIG EAST regular-season title with a perfect 16–0 conference record, and claimed its sixth straight BIG EAST Tournament championship.

Numerous student-athletes earned conference and national honors, and Ava Martin was named BIG EAST Player of the Year. Congratulations to our student-athletes and staff on an exceptional season—and thank you to the many supporters who have helped build this program over the years. Your impact is felt every day.

Other Fall Sports Highlights
Here are some highlights from our other programs that compete for championships in the fall semester:
- Women's Soccer finished fourth in the BIG EAST and earned a conference tournament berth for the second consecutive season—a significant achievement after finishing in the top 4 just once in the previous 11 seasons.
- Men's Soccer spent much of the season atop the conference's Midwest Division and firmly in NCAA Tournament contention before narrowly missing the postseason after the final home match.
- Women's Cross Country improved their NCAA Regional finish by four spots compared to last year and recorded their best BIG EAST Championship finish in five years. The team also captured the Platte River Rumble Collegiate title for the second straight season.
- Men's Cross Country also won the Platte River Rumble Collegiate race and competed strongly at the BIG EAST Championships, led by junior Oliver Annus, whose time ranked as the fourth-best by a Bluejay since joining the BIG EAST in 2013.

Basketball Teams Begin BIG EAST Play
December signals the start of BIG EAST conference action for both basketball programs.
The women's basketball team opened conference play with a 60–52 road victory at St. John's on December 4. They've won three of their last four games, and this young group continues to improve daily. We're excited to watch their growth as the season progresses.
The men's basketball team opens BIG EAST play tomorrow night at Xavier in Cincinnati, tipping off at 5:30 p.m. CT on FS1. This is the first of three conference games this month, followed by home matchups against Marquette on Saturday, December 20, and Butler on Tuesday, December 30.
While results in non-conference play certainly have not met our expectations, our goals remain firmly in front of us. BIG EAST championships and NCAA Tournament appearances are still within reach. Our coaches and student-athletes are working tirelessly, and your continued enthusiasm and support make a real difference. We need you to pack the CHI Health Center Omaha and D.J. Sokol Arena and help create the electric home-court advantage that sets Creighton apart.

Baseball and Softball: Almost Here
As soon as students return from winter break, our baseball and softball teams will begin official practices. Spring is just around the corner!
Softball head coach Krista Wood enters her fourth season after leading the program to 66 wins over the past two years and back-to-back appearances in the BIG EAST Championship final. Led by seniors Lily West, Ella Dalton, and Erika Perez, the team is primed for another strong season. This year also marks the debut of our new softball stadium, adding even more excitement. The home schedule includes matchups against Iowa State and Nebraska, in addition to BIG EAST opponents.
This spring also marks the inaugural season for Mark Kingston as head baseball coach. The team is coming off BIG EAST regular-season and tournament championships, as well as an NCAA Regional Finals appearance. Coach Kingston and his staff have strengthened the non-conference schedule with road trips to Tulane, LSU, and Miami, along with home series against Saint Mary's and Gonzaga, and two home games against Nebraska.

Baseball Facility Construction Update
Construction of the baseball practice field is progressing well and remains on track for completion before June 2026. The seating structure will follow shortly thereafter, with the combined baseball and softball team building—including locker rooms, batting cages, offices, and team spaces—scheduled for completion in Fall 2027.
These facilities will significantly enhance the student-athlete experience and better accommodate visiting teams during the Men's College World Series.
