The loss evened Creighton's record at 6-6 on the season and 2-1 in BIG EAST action, while Seton Hall climbed to 8-4 overall and 2-1 in conference contests.
Things started off well for the Bluejays as Creighton opened the game with seven straight points on a trey from Allison Heathcock as well as buckets from Elizabeth Gentry and Ava Zediker. Seton Hall, however, took control with a 20-0 run over the next four minutes. Mariana Valenzuela led the charge with 12 of her 23 points. The Pirates continued to sizzle in the second stanza, pushing their lead to as much as 20 at 45-25 (5:03) and again at 50-30 (3:30). Bluejay freshman Neleigh Gessert started to heat up, hitting consecutive shots from long range to help Creighton close within 14 at 50-36 (2:34), but Seton Hall scored the final six of the half.
