#23 Creighton Women's Basketball Faces St. John's on Wednesday

Omaha, Neb. -- Riding a five-game winning streak, Creighton Women's Basketball hosts St. John's on Wednesday, February 19 with an opportunity to clinch a top-two seed in the BIG EAST Tournament. The Bluejays and Red Storm battle at 6:00 p.m. on FloHoops.

The Red Storm may have found their bearings recently with three wins in their last five, including a 65-43 win over Butler on Sunday. St. John's, however, is just 1-6 on the road in conference play.
Lashae Dwyer guides the offense for the Red Storm with 13.0 ppg, while Ber'Nyah Mayo averages 10.0 ppg.

With victories in 12 of their last 13 games, the Bluejays are finding differing ways to win games. The extended winning streak has finally brought a bit of national attention back to Omaha as Creighton inched up to No. 23 in the AP Poll on Monday.
Seniors Lauren Jensen (18.0 ppg) and Morgan Maly (17.5 ppg) guide the Bluejay offense, but Creighton has received significant contributions from seniors Molly Mogensen, Jayme Horan, Mallory Brake and Brooke Littrell. The seven seniors combine to average 59.7 of Creighton's 73.7 ppg (81.0%).
Creighton is at its best when the Bluejays move the basketball and take care of the rock. Creighton enters the game with Georgetown averaging 17.6 assists per game and just 11.0
turnovers per contest.

But Northern Iowa will join this list soon as MBB coach Ben Jacobsen is over 340 and women's coach Tanya Warren is at 335 wins. Jacobsen played for and later replaced McDermott, while Warren played at Creighton and was a Creighton assistant to Flanery.
Bluejays Equaling Second Best 25-Game Start
At 21-4, Creighton equaled the 21-4 mark last season through 25 games. Creighton opened the 1991-92 season at 22-3 under Bruce Rasmussen. The 1991-92 team went on to close the season at 28-4, falling in its second game of the NCAA Tournament.
