Creighton will face either Providence or Georegetown at 6:00 pm on FS2
Uncasville, Conn. -- Entering the BIG EAST Conference Tournament with the goal of earning a rematch with powerhouse Connecticut on Monday, #23 Creighton will focus on its first task Saturday as the No. 2 seeded Bluejays will face either No. 7 Providence or No. 10 Georgetown on March 8 at 6:00 p.m.

Scouting Georgetown (11-18, 4-14 BIG EAST)
After finding their footing with a four game win streak spanning from late-November to early December, the Hoyas have struggled.
Heading into the Big East Tournament, the Hoyas ended the
regular season with a seven-game losing streak, falling most recently to Providence by four, their most narrow loss since early February.
Despite ultimately taking the loss in crunch time to Providence, Hoya graduate student Kelsey Ransom racked up her third double-double of the season with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Ariel Jenkins added another 10 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Georgetown.
The veterans also led the rosters in points per game and rebounds throughout the regular season. Ransom averaged 19.9 points and six rebounds per game, while Jenkins stepped up with 11.9 points and 10.1 rebounds per game.
Scouting #23 Creighton (24-5, 16-2 BIG EAST)
With the regular season officially at its end, the No. 23 Bluejays finished strong by winning eight of their previous nine contests to earn a 16-2 record in conference play, tied for their best.
The only team preventing Creighton from achieving a perfect record in conference play was the Connecticut Huskies, who prevailed over the Bluejays on two occasions.
After losing on the road to the No. 5 Huskies 72-53 on Feb. 27, the Bluejays rebounded quickly in their regular season finale with a decisive 70-55 victory over Villanova.
Creighton had a strong showing offensively in the second and fourth quarters against the Wildcats, converting on 8-13 attempts (61.54%) in both 10 minute stretches.
Veterans scorers Morgan Maly and Lauren Jensen once again led the roster with more than 15 points each against Villanova. The two combined for 40 of Creighton's 70 points on the evening.
Both seniors also led Creighton's offense throughout the regular season. Maly averaged 17.5 points per game, second only to Jensen's 17.9 average points per game. The two tied for an average 3.9 assists per game, the highest on the roster.

Creighton's victory over Villanova served not only as a decisive regular season wrap-up, but a milestone for Bluejay seniors Morgan Maly and Lauren Jensen.
With 23 points on the night, Maly surpassed her 2000th career point in a Bluejay uniform, reaching 2,008 points by the end of the game.
Fellow senior Jensen, who closed the night with 17 points, also passed 2,000 career points (Jensen scored 23 points during her lone season at Iowa). Jensen has 2,011 points in her career and 1,988 as a Bluejay.
Bluejays Close Out Undefeated Season at D.J. Sokol Arena
For just the first time in program history Creighton went undefeated at D.J. Sokol Arena at 11-0 this season. Creighton's lone home loss came to #6 Connecticut at the men's arena, the CHI Health Center. The last time the Bluejays went undefeated at home came during the 2007-2008. Overall the Bluejays have won 18 consecutive games at D.J. Sokol Arena, with the last loss coming on January 3, 2024 against #12 Connecticut. Over the last two seasons Creighton is 23-2 in games at D.J. Sokol Arena.
Maly lead NCAA With At Least One Made Three-Pointer in 49 consecutive games
Senior Morgan Maly has a streak of 49 games with at least one three pointer, dating back to Dec. 30, 2023 when she went 0-for-5
against St. John's. In her 146 games Morgan has hit at least one three-ball in 138 games.
Maly's streak of 49 games is the active high in the NCAA and the 19th highest in NCAA history (per Elias Research). The record holder is Caitlin Clark with 96 consecutive games.
Morgan passed former men's basketball player Baylor Scheierman's record of 48 games.
Bluejays have 50 Wins Over the Last Two Years
