OMAHA, Neb. -- Creighton men's basketball added its fourth transfer of the spring on Friday with the addition of former Miami (Fla.) guard Austin Swartz. Swartz is a 6'4" guard from Concord, N.C., who has three years of eligibility remaining.
Swartz averaged 5.9 points per game in 29 appearances for the Hurricanes, which included seven starts. Swartz made 87.5 percent of his free throws and drained 34 three-pointers on the season. He scored in double-figures five times, with a season-high of 15 points against Charleston Southern.
A former four-star recruit, Swartz was No. 50 in ESPN's final 2024 recruiting rankings and was also recruited out of high school by UConn, Florida, Indiana and Clemson.
"We are thrilled to welcome Austin to Omaha," said head coach Greg McDermott. "His size, strength and ability to stretch the floor with the three-point shot is a perfect fit for our fast-paced offense. His work ethic and desire to improve is very impressive. We can't wait to get him on campus!"
Swartz joins a talented group of Bluejay newcomers that includes incoming freshmen Hudson Greer and Aleksa Dimitrijevic along as well as Iowa transfers Owen Freeman and Josh Dix and Charlotte transfer Nik Graves.
Creighton finished its 2024-25 season with a 25-11 record and are one of four teams nationally to win an NCAA Tournament game each of the past five seasons.
