About Seton Hall
Scouting Seton Hall (15-6, 9-3 BE)
Seton Hall has won five of its last six contests. Its only loss in a little under a month was suffered at home against BIG EAST leader Connecticut, 92-52.
Seton Hall recovered less than a week later, most recently snagging a road victory over Georgetown, 58-52. Led by 19 points from Mariana Valenzuela and 17 from Savannah Catalon, the Pirates won the first and fourth quarters 22-16 and 17-10, respectively, to head home with the six-point win.
The Pirates lost the rebounding battle 35-26 and gave up 18 turnovers, but a collective 45% shooting average from beyond the arc was enough to fend off the home team and get the win.
Catalan and Valenzuela led the charge in beating the Hoyas and have spearheaded Seton Hall's offense this season. Catalon averages 14.3 points per game, while Valenzuela adds another 13.5 per game.
Scouting Creighton (9-12, 5-7 BIG EAST)
After a road loss at DePaul, Creighton left no doubt in its response at home, cruising to its fifth win at D.J. Sokol Arena this season, 81-51, over St. John's.
The game saw five Bluejays reach double-digit scoring, including freshmen Ava Zediker and Neleigh Gessert. Zediker racked up seven in the fourth quarter alone, draining two triples paired with a total 8-of-12 performance from the field for a game-high 18 points. Gessert followed just behind with 17 points thanks to five triples.
Capping off the Bluejays in double figures against the Red Storm were Kendall McGee (13 points), Grace Boffeli (12 points) and Allison Heathcock (10 points).
Creighton's defensive unit held St. John's to just 30.6% from the field and 19.2% from three over 40 minutes, holding lead scorer Brooke Moore (13.3 ppg) to just three points.
This season, the freshman duo of Zediker and Gessert has steadily moved into first and second place for scoring. Zediker leads the team with an average of 13.6 points per game, while Gessert averages 12.

The only two games the defense held opponents to a lower shooting percentage came against DePaul (W, 70-50 on Dec.20) as the Blue Demons shot 18-of-60 (30.0%) and at Omaha (W, 92-48 on Dec. 17) as the Mavericks shot 17-of-56 (30.4%).
Trio of Freshman Reach Double Figures in Bluejays' Win Over Red Storm

Back-To-Back Double-Doubles Earn Boffeli a Spot on BIG EAST Honor Roll
After posting 18 points and 15 rebounds in the win over Xavier on Jan. 20, Grace Boffeli delivered 12 points and 10 rebounds at DePaul on Jan. 25. The combined 30 points and 25 rebounds earned Boffeli a spot on the BIG EAST Honor Roll announced on Jan. 26.

Keys to the Game
- Ball Security: Unlike St. John's, the Pirates will pressure Creighton at every turn. The Bluejays must do more than minimize turnovers, they must turn Seton Hall's aggressive defense into easy offense.
- Limit Mariana Valenzuela: In the first meeting Valenzuela was 4-for-5 from beyond the arc, finishing with 23 points. The Bluejays need to make her work for her shots and take away open treys.
- Defend: The win over St. John's was Creighton's best defensive effort since it's win over DePaul on Dec. 20. Ironically each decisive BIG EAST win led to a meeting with Seton Hall.
